Here we are, just one week out from celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. After rising from the grave, He appeared to His disciples, to women at the tomb, and to many others over the course of 40 days—revealing Himself as the risen Savior before ascending into heaven.
Even now, over 2,000 years later, Jesus still reveals Himself to those who seek Him—and sometimes, even to those who aren’t yet looking.
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
— John 20:29
Do you remember the first time you truly encountered Jesus? That sacred moment when time seemed to pause, and something deep within you awakened to the reality of the Living God? Whether it happened in a church pew, during a quiet prayer, or in the midst of your everyday routine—one thing is certain: it was no coincidence. It was a divine appointment.
My encounter with Jesus came in the most unexpected way—He literally came to my front door.
At the time, I wasn’t following Jesus. I knew of Him, but didn’t know Him personally. I was facing a serious health crisis and preparing for major surgery. The diagnosis was stage 5 endometriosis, and I had been told by my doctor that as soon as possible a full hysterectomy would be needed. The damage, he said, was extensive. According to him, I would never be able to have children.
Then came a knock on my door.
Standing there was a woman I recognized from one of my fitness classes. We weren’t close—just acquaintances. But God had chosen her to be His messenger. With compassion in her eyes and boldness in her voice, she said, “Jesus sent me. He wants to heal you.”
I didn’t know what to say. I wasn’t sure I even believed what I was hearing. But her words stirred something deep within me. Looking back now, that was the moment the Holy Spirit began softening my heart and preparing me to receive something miraculous.
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.”
— Revelation 3:20
Not long after her visit, something remarkable happened—the bleeding completely stopped. My symptoms vanished. I was in shock. Was this real? Could it be? And then, the truth became clear to me.
Jesus had healed my body. Completely.
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:5
“He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”
— Matthew 8:17
It wasn’t just physical healing I received—it was spiritual awakening. Jesus had my attention. I canceled the surgery, not out of fear, but in full confidence that I had encountered the healing power of God. That decision led me to surrender my life to Christ. I began to follow Him wholeheartedly from that day forward.
And then, in the most awe-inspiring turn of events—I gave birth to twins. After being told I would never have children, God not only restored what was lost… He multiplied it. What once seemed impossible became a testimony to God’s faithfulness and power.
“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
— John 1:12
I was 26 years old when I met Jesus. I had a lot to learn, and I dove headfirst into His Word. I was spiritually hungry and couldn’t get enough. I read Scripture daily, craving more of His truth, presence, and purpose for my life. The more I read, the more I grew—and the more I trusted Him with every detail.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Though my circumstances hadn’t changed overnight, I had. My world felt brighter. Joy filled places that were once filled with fear. Every day seemed to burst with new hope. Springtime had swept new life into my soul.
Maybe you’re facing something that feels overwhelming. Maybe you’re longing for healing, direction, or hope. Let my story encourage you—Jesus still knocks. He still heals. And He still changes lives in ways we can’t even imagine.
And sometimes… He sends someone from your fitness class to your front door to deliver the miracle.
