Scott and Melissa Hillard are both advocates with the Mission Aviation Fellowship Ministry and are my guests on today’s episode! Scott is a pilot and the MAF Southern Region Coordinator and Melissa is a spokesperson for the Ministry. Melissa has recently flown to Uganda and Mozambique sharing the love of Christ with others in remote areas.
MAF was founded by WWII pilots who had a vision for how aviation could be used to overcome barriers of terrain to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. The U.S. organization was the first to take to the air. On February 23, 1946, pilot Betty Greene flew the first MAF plane on its inaugural flight, transporting tow missionaries from Wycliffe Bible Translators to a remote jungle location in Mexico.
