Carol Robertson and her husband Louis are the owners of Farley’s Bed & Breakfast located in the farming community of Calhoun Kentucky. God gave them both a vision of restoring Farley’s to an early 20th century appearance. Carol took me on a tour inside of Farley‘s. This historical bed and breakfast would be a great destination place to stay. Carol is gifted at creating homemade (wonderful) food and she is a charming hostess welcoming her guests with her southern hospitality.
Everything Carol creates is from scratch!!!
One word best describes the eats and treats you will find in Farley’s cafe: Homemade. From the apple pie crust to the crisp zucchini bread, you will taste the difference homemade makes. At Farley’s, we take great pride in using recipes that have been passed down through our generations.
Lunch is served in the cafe every weekday from 11am to 2pm. Lunch consists of soups, sandwiches, sides, and desserts. I LOVE her homemade pimento cheese!!!
A selection of desserts is served every weekday from 2pm to 4pm. The dessert menu changes with the seasons. Fall desserts feature apple and pumpkin pies, cookies, and breads. Easter is here and Carol will have lots of goodies ready for your Easter baskets!
Each holiday season, Farley’s offers special treats for purchase. Sugar cookies and suckers are available for Halloween, and at Christmas, the kitchen will be filled with the familiar aromas of gingerbread, fudge, and divinity.
Café located inside of Farley‘s that is open for lunch 11 am to 2pm weekdays.
Farley’s is available for hire as an event space on weekday evenings and on weekends. They have hosted baby and bridal showers, birthday parties, organizational meetings, and holiday parties. Prices vary by event and customized menu, but our offerings can accommodate all budgets. Three rooms on the ground floor are available for events and combined they can seat 48 guests. Two rooms are separated by a pocket door, which when opened allows the space to seat 36 guests. Their staff will assist each host in customizing a menu and decorating. Antique china and white linens are available at an additional charge.
The upstairs of Farley’s offers three guest rooms. They have restored each room to an early twentieth-century appearance, but each room also features essential modern amenities. During restoration, the walls, floors, and ceilings of the rooms were insulated to provide the best soundproofing possible. Each room includes wifi access and satellite television. Room furnishings are antique, except the beds, which are new. All rooms have an en-suite with clawfoot tubs and showers. Hardwood floors and historically accurate wall colors reinforce the period atmosphere.
The ground floor houses a fourth guest room, which also serves as the owners’ retreat. The room is handicap accessible and ADA compliant. It is located in the new addition behind the cafe and is decorated to reflect the period feel of the original structure.
